Jeans, Beatniks and cigarettes ... What was the spirit of the late 50's and the early 60's ?

Rock'n'roll, Elvis Presley, James Dean, Jack Kerouac, Brigitte Bardot, Marlon Brando... those were the greatest icons of this decade. The teenagers read The Catcher in the rye by J.D.Salinger and books of the Beat Generations whose representatives were Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg, Neal Cassady, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, William Seward Burroughs, Ken Kesey, etc.. They admired beauty of Brigitte Bardot and Marilyn Monroe and their heros were James Dean and Marlon Brando. James Dean was young actor who played in only three films- Rebel without a cause, East of Eden and The Giant, but he became the teen idol and legend in a very short time. He was a symbol of young cool rebelling people. Unfortunately, in 1955, he died at 24 in a car accident. Marlon Brando became an icon, when he presented himself as a wild guy on a motorbike in the movie The wild one. The french way: The existencialistic youth dressed in denim smoked and listened to Jean-Paul Sartre or Serge Gainsbourg in Paris Café de Flore in St.Germain.

After the release of Sgt.Pepper's lonely hearts club band, the Summer of Love in 1967 began. Its top took place when Scott McKenzie sang: ,,If you're going to San Francisco, be sure to wear some flowers in your hair, if you're going to San Francisco, you're gonna meet some gentle people there.....´´. So the centre of Hippies was in California, especially in San Francisco and during the Summer of Love in 1967 the famous Monterrey Pop festival was held.Casual Prom Dresses

The era of Hippies continued and on 15th,16th and 17th of August 1969, Woodstock took place. This legendary festival is known as 3 days of Peace and Music. It was held in White lake and about 500 000 people came. Some of the performers who participated during the festival: Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, The Who, Crosby- Stills- Nash & Young, Grateful Dead, Santana, Ravi Shankar, Joe Cocker, Joan Baez. Jimi Hendrix

Firstly, they performed in the house on Venice Beach, then in some clubs on Sunset Strip and became famous in a quite short time. Jim was shy  firstly, but then he changed and was thrown out of the club because of the text of The End. However, the producer Paul Rotchild liked them and offered recording of a gramophone record with them. They agreed and few days later, there was their first record with single Light my fire, which was probably their most famous hit of all. They have subjugated whole America, but Jim started having many problems with alcohol, using many drugs and exhibitionism. His erotic gestures took him to the court. They had many problems and were about to break up. Even their producer let them make their record L.A.Woman on their own. Although, they were disintegrating and had to make all things with L.A.Woman on their own, it was great. Great end of their journey. 

Even before The Doors were established, Jim met Pamela Courson (1946- 1974)- his longtime girlfriend and love of his life. They fell in love with each other at the first sight and although, JIm had many lovers, he always returned to Pam. She didn't want him to be a rock'n'roll star and wanted him to be a poet. In 1971 she persuaded him to live in Paris. Wandering through Paris and writing poems wasn't so exciting for him and he continued with drinking alcohol, smoking and using drugs plentiful. He died at 27, probably of heart attack. His tomb is situated on Pere Lachaise, famous parisian cemetery. Pamela passed away three years after him of heroin overdose.

I do not like dresses made of satin, but for this I made an exception ;) Mainly because I really liked her elegant, girly fashion. Dress is Made-to-measure, so that I had the opportunity to choose from including the color of the material, which will be done - I decided on a bright, pearly pink and length to reach the knees. The creation drew a delicate white bag with beautiful lace and flesh-colored high-heeled pumps. I think the styling is ideal for such a wedding - and as you know full season ;)

If I had to point out my favorite material of the clothes are made, no doubt among them would include lace and fabric flowers. In today's styling I combined both the first and second :) Top outfit consists of a translucent white blouse, under which I wore short corset top in the same color - the duo has created quite ripped combination ;) To this I added white-and-green shorts with the original, girly pattern. Instead of pins, I decided to flesh-colored ballerina that I bought recently allegro - the cut and color of the shoes is extremely versatile.

Do you like hats? I have a few - but I think this time of year are irreplaceable! One can see below - I bought it two years ago in Tally Weijl :) It proved to be the perfect complement to summer pastel styling consisting of a short masthead flowery, light denim shorts and white lace cardiganu.
